There is a video presentation which explores the history of New Town and the living conditions of those who inhabited Georgian House. Home to Scotland's outstanding national collection of modern and contemporary art, the Modern Art Galleries include the Gallery of Modern Art and the nearby Dean Gallery. Both galleries are set in extensive parkland, where visitors can discover sculpture works by important artists like Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. The walk to the galleries begins in the picturesque district of Stockbridge and takes us along the Water of Leith through Dean Village, a quaint and historic village cocooned within the city's elegant New Town. The area has a storybook feel with its quirky old buildings overlooking the Water of Leith and its bridges and winding path-ways.
