Accommodation

Residential Accommodation

Available in most EAC centres, residential accommodation is a very popular option for summer school students, who live on campus, or close to campus alongside residential EAC staff and managers.

All our accommodation has been selected specifically to offer an appropriate mix of comfort, safety, convenience and value for money. No two residences are alike - we offer boarding school accommodation where rooms are usually shared with several other students, and we offer accommodation at some of the most modern university facilities in the UK with the latest in student comfort including single rooms each with their own private bathroom.

Please have a look though the information on our location pages to see the facilities available at each of our centres.

Homestay Accommodation

In some centres, students also have the choice of being accommodated with local hosts, all of whom have been carefully selected and their homes inspected every two years. Living with a local host provides an ideal opportunity to get to know about the local way of life at first hand and to improve language skills through daily contact. It is unusual for hosts to be within walking distance of the college so students should expect to use public transport to go to and from the summer school centre. Homestay students should also note the following points:

- On arrival, the students will be met at the college by their host and taken to their home. For late night or early morning arrivals, EAC may arrange for students to arrive at their host by EAC organised taxis

- All homestay students are expected to spend time with their hosts, getting to know them and understand more about British life and people. Students are also welcome to attend EAC evening activities but will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements when attending these events

- Homestay students will have breakfast and dinner with their host each day. For lunch hosts will provide a packed lunch each day.

- Students wishing to stay in homestay should be at least 14 years of age

- Only one mother tongue speaker will be accommodated per host unless otherwise requested

- Accommodation provided will be shared rooms (maximum 2 sharing unless otherwise requested). Up to 4 students may be accommodated by the same host.
