Stafford
Stafford - Staffordshire University
Residential ages 12 - 18
You can experience England's heritage at its richest in Stafford, the county town of Staffordshire. Situated on the edge of Cannock Chase, an area of outstanding natural beauty, this ancient borough with its castle, pretty cobbled back streets and Elizabethan town houses reveals 900 years of history at its most colourful. William the Conqueror first had a fortress built in Stafford to subdue the local population.
The EAC summer school takes place on the beautiful campus of Staffordshire University, within easy reach of the historic town centre of Stafford. The campus, set in a semi-rural location 1.5 miles from the town centre, comprises excellent en-suite and standard accommodation, large refectory, classrooms and IT facilities, large indoor sports hall, tennis courts, all weather 5-a-side football pitches and ample playing fields. There is also a superb, recently refurbished Students Union on site for evening activities. There is a bus stop on the campus and a frequent bus service (every 12 minutes) connects the campus with the town centre.
