Emma Buckby

Emma has worked for EAC’s summer vacation courses for years and has now joined EAC Head Office as an Operations Manager. She began working in the EFL industry in 1998 and has lived and taught in the Dominican Republic, Japan and Spain, as well as in the UK. She regularly volunteers for AFS, a charity promoting intercultural exchange and understanding.

Emma is also undertaking a Ph.D by research regarding women’s writing in the Dominican Republic after the death of the island’s last dictator, Trujillo, which includes themes of identity and dislocation and has presented a number of papers on the subject. She also enjoys dancing, learning languages and spending time with her two dogs, Harry and Jess.
