History of EAC

EAC was founded in 1992 by Andrew Fisher and was originally 'Edinburgh Activity Camps', operating activity camps for local school children in Edinburgh during their school holidays. The first international summer centre offering English language teaching opened in 1997, and in 2000 Richie Morgan joined the company bringing specific industry expertise and knowledge to his marketing role.

EAC continued to expand throughout the UK, offering International summer schools in 20 locations. In 2001, EAC opened its first adult language school in Edinburgh, and in 2004, another adult school in Hastings, East Sussex.

Having enjoyed a rapid growth period and success, in June 2009, EAC were acquired by TUI Travel PLC. EAC continues to expand and develop, and we are now excited to offer language programmes in the USA, France and Spain in addition to our strong UK language school presence.

Though the company has experienced such rapid change and growth over the last 19 years, our ethos remains the same: Don’t just learn English, experience English.
