Edinburgh Newbattle

Edinburgh is one of Europe’s finest cities. It has something to offer everyone whose interests are cultural, historical or social. There are a wealth of places to visit and things to do in Edinburgh, from the elegant Georgian New Town to the maze of alleyways in the Old Town. Edinburgh is a perfect base for exploring the beautiful country of Scotland, which boasts some of the most spectacular and atmospheric countryside in Europe.

The EAC summer school takes place in the beautiful surroundings of Newbattle Abbey College, a 16th Century house which occupies the site of a 12th Century Abbey. Just 7 miles south of Edinburgh city centre, the college has excellent bus links. Set in 125 acres of beautiful gardens, the campus is steeped in history. Newbattle Abbey is a truly magical place to study English and experience traditional Scottish hospitality. Although there are no indoor sports facilities on campus, outdoor sports such as football, volleyball and rounders can be played.
