I have recently completed my CELTA/Teaching Qualification, can I still apply?
Yes. EAC can be a great start for newly qualified EFL Teachers. You will be supported by a Director of Studies and also a roving Area Academic Manager. Through your time with EAC you will be supported by the academic management team and given the opportunity for feedback and to attend INSET sessions as well as Teachers meetings. You will also be able to follow our syllabus and have full use of materials whilst you are employed through EAC. For a typical day in the life of an EFL Teacher in the summer please visit the Working at EAC section.

Do I need to complete an application form?
Yes. All sections must be completed in full (including a full employment history, with gaps in employment accounted for e.g. unemployment). If successful you will be sent a blank application form to complete along with your contract. CVs can be sent in addition to an application form, but are not acceptable on their own.

Who can I put down as referees?
We will need the details of at least two professional referees, preferably those who can be contacted with regard to your suitability to work with children. One of them should be your current or previous employer or college tutor. We are unable to accept character references, or references from friends or family. We will need their full contact details- first name and surname, address, telephone number, fax and e mail address.
It is possible that we will contact referees prior to your interview; please make sure they are aware we have their details. If you are in any doubts please contact one of the HR Team.
What happens once you have received my application?
If you are successful we will contact you either by phone or email, within two weeks of receiving your application. Interviews are usually conducted by telephone and last approximately 30 minutes. You will be contacted by a member of the Recruitment team and they usually take place from March- June. If you do not hear from us within this time, please assume that on this occasion your application has been unsuccessful.

How/when will I be paid?
All EAC employees are paid either into a UK bank account (this can be your own account or you can nominate someone else's UK bank account) only. We do not pay in cash. Our payroll is four weekly, we cannot offer cash advances at any time (please refer to your contract of employment for payment dates).
It is the individual’s responsibility to complete and return the bank details form and the correct tax form and return with your contract. If you are in doubt as to which tax form to complete please visit www.hrmc.gov.uk for further details.

What do I need to bring?
Teachers need to bring their original teaching certificates and degree certificates with them to the centre. All staff must have their passports (showing valid work permit, if applicable) and any other relevant certificates (e.g. first aid).
Teachers are welcome to bring their own materials to supplement the existing syllabus though there is a library of teaching books available at each centre.

Are travel costs to the centre covered?
